Last lesson in Social Studies our class studied the rise and fall of the African Empires (namely Mali, Songhai and Ghana) I found the method of Ghana’s wealth quite impressive as well as the pilgramage of Mansa Musa (a king) leading to it being placed on the European maps.
What surprised me the most, however, was the sudden spring-up of empires during the early ages of the world. I never even had the slightest clue that all this rich history lay behind the harsh deserts of Africa. However, it was rather difficult to take notes about most of the subjects because there is person number 1 talking about so and such and person number 2 writing down the name and lo and behold! person number 3 blocks the name
