What did you learn from this task?
I learned how to utilise Wikispaces to the best as well as how to search better by using the boolean operators.

Did you find this difficult or easy? Why?
I found this difficult as I came in the middle and didn’t really have a chance to get to know how the grop worked. Furthermore, I was behind most of the time.

What would you change about the process you went through to complete the wiki if you were to do the assignment again?

I would change the amount of time we had to research and make my information more through. Furthermore, I would include more images as well as links

Homework

For my summer vacation, I went on an airplane to Las Vegas for a month and a week. I stayed at The Venetian, Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock. After that, we went on the Maverick Helicoptor Tours to the Grand Canyon. I also visited my favourite bookstore and Lake Las Vegas.

What is the issue?

Kofi Annan, United Nations Secretary-General, visited
Israel shortly after visiting Lebanon and strengthens the truce between the two warring countries.

Who is affected and how?

Kofi Annan is affected because he is concerned about the two countries that are head to head with each other. Lebanon and Israel are affected because the truce can either develop into peace or resume the war. The Israeli troops too are affected because when Kofi Annan visited the army, he inspired peace with them so they might not want to fight anymore. The families of the soldiers in the war will also be affected as a lot of their sons, fathers, brothers etc will die.

What would you do if you were directly involved?

If I were directly involved, I would gather up the leaders of the two countries and hear both parts of the story. I would take a few hours to analyse what they have told me and piece together a solution that satifies both countries needs.

What is the event?

Israeli planes continue to attack Lebanon a few hours after the UN security council developed the Resolution 1701 and Hezbollah’s rockets cause large fatalities in both Israel and Lebanon.

Who is affected and how?

The people in Israel are affected because their lives will be forever changed by the current war and might lose relatives, farms etc. The Israel army will also have huge casualties due to the fighting. The Lebanese will also be affected because the people there might be running all over the place and there will probably be some people killed in the mob stampede.

What I found interesting about this event

 I found this event interesting because despite the war going on that might just errupt into the third world war, the UN are not doing anything except sending peacekeepers to the war-torn areas. It is surprising that just because Hezbollah wants to refuse Israel’s right to exist, they are firing rockets, missiles etc at it and Lebanon producing huge amounts of death!

What I liked about the initial blog posting.

I really liked the idea of using blogs instead of typing it up or writing the homework down. It is a really creative and practical idea!

Over the past weeks, I have learned that current events can be no longer than 3 days old. A good current event should effect the whole world or a major part of it. An example of a bad current event would be- in the seventh Harry Potter book, Harry dies. A good current event would be something like this….earthquakes and hurricanes shake apart the Western Hemisphere.
